Denise Halfyard

Denise Halfyard is the founder of The Frog Radio, an online radio station devoted to 100% Indigenous music of all genres. Denise lives in Richmond, BC. She is a Wet’suwet’en, Tsimshian and Gitxsan woman, part of the Laksilyu clan (Wet’suwet’en). Her clan’s name translates to “small frog” in English, which serves as the inspiration for her business’s name. Her mission at The Frog Radio is to empower Indigenous musicians to share their music. In addition to The Frog Radio, Denise is the owner of C’ikwah Beadwork, where she sells traditional hand-beaded earrings. In 2021, she was featured as an entrepreneur on the Indigenous LIFT Collective, a non-profit organization that uplifts Indigenous communities.
