Hannah Sennik is the co-founder and CEO of Rekammend, a Toronto-based medtech start-up that provides personalized communication experiences for individuals with speech and language disorders, reducing their dependence on clinicians and caregivers. The company’s main product, Reka, utilizes technology to increase the independence and overall quality of life of clients. Hannah attended the University of Waterloo, where she completed her degree in Systems Design Engineering, and later earned her Masters in Bioengineering Innovation and Design from John Hopkins University. She has also completed medtech internships at Apple, Synaptive Medical, and Intellijoint. In addition to her studies and work experience, Hannah has donated thousands of hours to volunteering and held various positions in organizations like the SickKids Foundation. Rekammend was founded as part of a fourth-year capstone design project, with a team of four Systems Design Engineering students that worked closely with individuals with aphasia and their care circle to create the app.
