Heather Young

Heather Young is a Canadian filmmaker based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and the founder of Houseplant Films. After graduating from the University of New Brunswick and NSCAD University, Heather has created several short films that were featured in festivals around the world. Heather’s first feature, which she wrote and directed, MURMUR (2019) premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival where it won the FIPRESCI Prize for the Discovery Programme. She was also awarded with the Best First Feature at the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards.
