Irene is the daughter of Italian immigrants, who chased her dreams and her roots at fashion design school in Milan. After graduating she worked at well-known design labels, including Versace, but did not consider it a good fit. After returning to Alberta, she took a natural dyeing workshop that changed her perspective on textiles and sustainability. She opened her own label featuring designs made from handmade naturally-dyed materials. Irene also offers workshops, including virtual classes with accompanying introductory home-dye kits.
