Julain Monar is the CEO of Fresh Start, a food manufacturer that makes dairy-free, nut-based cheese products. Fresh Start’s manufacturing and distribution process is dedicated to health, animal welfare, and the environment. Julain founded the company as Fresh Start Fauxmage in 2017 when she moved to PEI from Ontario and discovered that there were no good-quality vegan cheese options in the local area. Her line of artisanal cheeses was born out of experimentation with different cashew-based cheese formulas. Julain operates her business in Stratford, PEI, and her products can be found at food retailers in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, and Alberta.
