Manica Blain is a Co-Founder and previously a Partner of Campfire Capital, a venture capital fund that focuses on early-stage consumer and retail businesses. She has a strong background in finance and investing, and has worked for Westwind Partners (Citigroup’s Global Consumer and Retail Investment Banking division in London), BMO Capital Markets, and Onex Partners. She gained valuable experience advising on acquisition and financing deals for major consumer and retail companies. In 2014, she moved to Vancouver to launch Campfire Capital, where she led the fund’s successful US$32 million raise. Along with her role at Campfire, she also currently heads the private investment and venture capital portfolio of Joe Houssian, founder of Intrawest Corp. and JH Investments. She is also a Venture Partner at BrandProject and passionate about mentoring young women to retain talent in the finance industry.
