Mariam Ekram is the founder and CEO of Koa Natural Foods, a company based in Newmarket, Ontario that produces healthy and delicious snacks made with natural, certified organic, and non-GMO ingredients. Eight years ago while on her morning jog, Mariam had the idea to create a healthy snack with simple ingredients that she could understand. The company’s products include a variety of vegan, vegetarian, keto, and gluten-free options, such as the popular A Lil Nutty cashew snacks, the Good Gummies Vegan Jelly Hearts, and Lilo & Co. Organic Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. Mariam is committed to promoting healthy living and supporting organizations that empower women, such as the Woman Empowering Women initiative. The company’s mission is to provide healthy and sustainable snacks that improve physical and mental well-being, while also supporting ethical and sustainable practices.
