Marie’s startup Sampler is at the crossroads of data and consumer marketing – and as of 2020, the right place at the right time. For the better part of a decade, Marie has been pushing for companies to take product sampling online to more efficiently target consumers based on their interests, instead of at random passers by. Her platform creates profiles for consumers and matches them with product samples tailored to them, which are then shipped to users. Despite some early success, real growth came at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, when traditional sampling could not be done due to shutdowns and safety concerns.
