Melanie Angis is the Founder of Backcountry Wok. Melanie and her team make Dehydrated Asian-inspired and plant-based meals in 100% compostable packaging. They also ensure a portion of the profits go towards supporting outdoor education and sustainability programs for youth. Melanie was doing field work for her Masters of Science in Marine Biology at the University of British Columbia, when she was inspired to relocate to Ottawa and pursue a career in environmental sciences. For its commitment to sustainability, Backcountry Wok was recognized with the Bootstrap Green Award.
