They are the first company in the world to convert food waste into fabric. The company’s CEO is Myra Arshad, who leads a team of scientists and entrepreneurs passionate about sustainability in the fashion industry. Myra comes from a family background in textile manufacturing. Prior to co-founding ALT TEX, she held corporate positions in sales and marketing at Fortune 500 companies. She is a graduate of York University’s Schulich School of Business, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. In 2022, she was listed among Future of Good’s 21 New Social Purpose Founders to Watch.
