Nicole Sanchez

Nicole Sanchez is the co-founder of Ruth, a menstrual product company that aims to address the issue of menstrual waste by providing disposable and biodegradable pads. She and her business partner, Anka, met at the University of Alberta in 2018 while participating in a student group focused on social entrepreneurship. Together, they have been supported as female founders through various programs such as Founder Institute, NEXT 36, and the League of Innovators. Nicole’s passion for making a positive impact on the world led her to pursue a business degree with the hopes of later pursuing law. However, when she came across the project that would eventually become Ruth, she was introduced to the world of entrepreneurship and the issues surrounding menstruation. Through Ruth, Nicole leads the team in executing their marketing strategy and business development, driven by the company’s mission and vision. She is an alumnus of Founder Institute Western Canada and Draper University, and has won second place at a University of Alberta competition and competed in Falling Walls Lab International in Berlin, Germany.
