Sara Panton grew up on an organic farm and had an understanding of clean, organic products before there was a widespread interest and market for them. As a side project while studying to become a doctor, Sara and her brother started blogging on essential oils and natural scenting. This interest turned into a home-based essential oil production which has since grown to their brand Vitruvi. Today, they run a lean 20-person company from their Vancouver HQ, and sell systems in over 300 retailers including West Elm, CB2, Goop, Sephora and Nordstrom—though most of their sales occur direct-to-consumer.
