Shar Wilson

Shar Wilson is the founder and designer behind FINAWear, a clothing line with a fusion of Indigenous art and modern fashion. Shar is a Gitxsan artist from Victoria, BC, and her products are hand-made in Canada. After losing her son suddenly in 2009, Shar leaned into her art as a therapeutic practice, which led to her opening FINAWear. The name of her business reflects her roots: FINA is a combination of the words First Nations. The naming is important to her in order to distinguish authentic Indigenous artists from those who exploit Indigenous artists by reselling without a fair royalty.
