Shiz Aoki

Shiz Aoki is an internationally recognized illustrator who has a passion for bringing medical images to life. The idea behind BioRender first originated when Aoki realized she was unable to keep up with the demands of scientists who solicited her services at her Toronto-based medical illustration firm. In 2017, she co-founded BioRender, with a vision of empowering scientists to create their own medical illustrations quickly. Today, BioRender has users in over 40 countries around the world and continues to evolve. Aoki brings a wealth of experience to her role as CEO, as an alumnus of the John Hopkins illustration program who is notably known as the youngest science illustrator to ever work at National Geographic.
