Operation Take Two began as a project started by a group of students in Kelowna, BC. After becoming interested in the issue of plastic pollution, the students decided to create a solution by diverting plastic waste from landfill and oceans by repurposing the material into practical items including 3D printer filament, reusable bags, and plant pots. Operation Take Two is a social enterprise, with their products sold at a profit to ensure the project’s sustainability and to grow their capacity to invest in other youth-led initiatives in the local community. The organization came to national recognition when they pitched their operation on Dragon’s Den.
