Verena Varga

Verena Varga is the co-owner of Heart Beet Organics, an organic vegetable farm in North Wiltshire, PEI. The business also operates a Farmacy and Fermentery in downtown Charlottetown, where customers can get local, organic, simple, and real food. Verena runs Heart Beet Organics alongside her partner Amy Smith, with whom she has been farming since 2010. Verena and Amy moved to PEI to pursue their dream of owning a farm. Since then, they have bought a small homestead comprising a house, two greenhouses, four high tunnels, and a 2-acre farm. While Verena and her partner were originally told that their business would never take off, Heart Beet Organics is now thriving. They are especially popular for their locally-made kombucha and high-quality organic ferments.
