Ursula Bear

Ursula Bear is a small business owner from the Tobique First Nation of New Brunswick. Her business, The Bear Necessities Homestead, offers produce, organic canned goods, and homemade Maliseet arts and crafts. Ursula makes her products using ingredients from her garden, which is located along the St. John River. She took on gardening in order to find alternatives to GMOs and chemicals in commercial produce. In 2021, Ursula’s business was a semi-finalist in the Atlantic Pow Wow Pitch for Indigenous businesses.
