Jack59 is the name of Vanessa Marshall’s dog, as well as her thriving beauty business. Founded in 2015, Jack59 is a sustainable, plastic-free line of hair care products made entirely from natural ingredients. The company is Indigenous-owned, ethically-driven, women-led and 100% Canadian。Their 100% plastic free production process has prevented over 500,000 plastic bottles from ending up in landfills. Although Vanessa originally planned on being a dentist, Vanessa’s interest in soap-making led her to become a successful entrepreneur. Jack59’s e-commerce initiatives have reached consumers around the world, all out of Vanessa’s storefront in Edmonton. Vanessa’s amazing career was honoured with the Alberta Women Entrepreneurs Indigenous Entrepreneur Award in 2022.
