Rebekah Thibeault had doubts that she could become a successful business owner yet romanticized the idea of embarking on an entrepreneurial journey. The difficulty of living with neurological disorders like Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Irlen Syndrome, created further barriers to realizing her true potential. With a passion for fashion, she set out to open a consignment boutique with a business partner. Within a few months of operations, Rebekah and her partner had reached a roadblock in their business relationship. Her perseverance and fortitude eventually led her to win and take the company solely in her name. Today, Bee Key & Boutique offers private shopping appointments that compare to a VIP experience often found at ateliers and high-end fashion stores—whilst being a thrift store fighting to reduce clothing waste. In July 2020, the first franchised location opened nearby in Beaumont, Alberta. Rebekah is the recipient of the 2021 Dr. Paul Garfinkel Resilience Award.
