Anja Lanz is an accomplished design engineer based in Vancouver. She is the co-CEO and co-founder of Global Women in STEM, a women-owned company that promotes women’s opportunities in STEM. Along with her co-founder Damineh Akhavan, Anja advocates for human rights and gender diversity in STEM, seeking to challenge the status quo. She has served in a number of Canadian organizations focused on women’s rights in the workplace, including the Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology, the NGO Committee on the Status of Women, and the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Women’s Leadership Circle Advisory Council. An engineering graduate from the University of British Columbia, she is the recipient of the 2008 UBC Faculty of Science Achievement Award for Service and the UBC Health 2021 R. Paul Kerston Community Educator Award.
