Carole Herder is the founder of Cavallo Horse & Rider, a business she started when she packed up her life in the city and took up horseback riding in the countryside. A new equestrian, it struck Carole that it was deemed acceptable for horses to wear metal shoes – nailed into live tissue – instead of going barefoot. She set out against a community rooted in tradition and set out to create a functional and horse-friendly alternative, and developed a shock-absorbing hoof boot. Carole’s product has since gained popularity by word of mouth, and leads the market which has attracted several competitors.
