Jasmine-Swimmer

Jasmine Swimmer

Jasmine Swimmer is an Afro-Indigenous animator and illustrator in Toronto, Ontario. She also runs Soft and Butter, which infuses traditional Indigenous plant culture into skincare products. Jasmine dedicates her career to championing sustainability and economic growth within the Canadian landscape, partnering with Indigenous farmers and landowners to tell their stories and produce quality products. Jasmine launched Soft and Butter when she was looking for products to soothe her eczema and saw a lack of pure products in the beauty industry. The ingredients that she uses in her products are inspired by her Maroon and Taino Arawak First Nations roots. They include rich fruits, plants, and seeds sustainably farmed and sourced from Amazon Rainforest, Northern Ontario, and Ghana. In 2021, Jasmine represented her business at the Ontario Pow Wow Pitch, where she was a semi-finalist.
