Jennifer Denny is a Mi’kmaq Garment Designer from the Millbrook First Nation community. For over 16 years, she has specialized in sewing and beadwork, particularly wearable art for Indigenous powwow dancers and cultural garments for the Mi’kmaq people. She is the founder of L’Nu’k Clothing, a brand that makes modern apparel inspired by her traditional Indigenous roots. The brand name, L’Nu’k, is the term that Mi’kmaq people use to describe themselves as Indigenous people, and highlights the business’s focus on amplifying Indigenous voices. For example, the Treaty Apparel line is designed to encourage and introduce Jennifer’s approach to Truth and Reconciliation. In 2021, Jennifer and her business were semi-finalists in the Atlantic Pow Wow Pitch.
