Katie Young is the owner and operator of Klondike Kettle Corn, a gourmet popcorn company based in the Yukon Territory. The business started in 2010 at the Fireweed Community Market, selling sweet and salty kettle corn, and has since grown to include over 30 different flavor combinations with distribution throughout the territory. Klondike Kettle Corn now sells in grocery stores, service stations, coffee shops, and tasting rooms. Katie is a dedicated entrepreneur and community member, using her business to support local events and initiatives. She started the business with a friend’s idea and eventually took over, growing the business while raising her two sons. She has been a vendor at the Fireweed Community Market since 2010 and has expanded into year-round production and wholesale sales. Katie is a recipient of the 2022 Business #StandWithOthers Prize awarded by Telus.
