Krishana Sankar

Krishana Sankar was compelled to create GradWriteSlack – an online academic writing and mental support group for graduate students – due to her own experiences trying to balance her mental well-being and family academic responsibilities. Sankar recently completed her doctorate in medicine and currently serves as the co-founder for the Women of Colour in STEAMM Canada (WoCScan). As co-founder of the U of T Diabetes Canada Chapter, she works to spread awareness and informs the public on diabetes research. Sankar is an award-winning science communicator who is often invited to speak at conferences, universities, schools and non-profits on science communication, diabetes research, and the immigrant woman of colour in STEM experience.
