Nicky Nicholson

Nicky Nicholson is the young entrepreneur behind Happy Cones Solar-Powered Ice Cream Trailer in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Nicky opened Happy Cones in 2021 when she was a 15-year-old high school student. Her ice cream truck is Canada’s first solar-powered ice cream trailer. The trailer is entirely solar powered, including its storage freezer. She came up with the idea for her business when she was participating in St. Francis Xavier University’s Girls Mean Business eight-week summer program. She intends to run her ice cream truck in the most eco-friendly way possible, and she wants to continue in business in the future. In 2021 and 2022, she competed in the Youth category of the Pow Wow Pitch, where her business was a semi-finalist.
