Rachael Newton was inspired to found Nixit, a reusable menstrual cup, after observing the impact that conventional pads and tampons have on the environment firsthand. Having previously lived on an island in the Caribbean and seeing plastic waste wash up on shore, Rachael learned that menstrual products are the fifth most common source of waste on beaches. In addition to preventing plastic waste, Rachael’s product is free from harmful chemicals and prevents the drying effects found in conventional menstrual products. To boot, the Nixit cup is made in Canada and approved for sale by Health Canada.
