Shannon Hunter

Shannon Hunter is the founder and president of Wander the Resort, a luxurious and family-friendly lakeside retreat located in Prince Edward County, Canada. Inspired by Scandinavian design, the resort opened in December 2020 at a time when Canadians were seeking a respite from travel. It has been highly successful with multiple consecutive sold-out seasons and recognition as the best new hotel in Canada by Condé Nast Traveller in 2021. In addition to the resort, they also launched a beach club and a gift shop where guests can find locally-made items. Prior to launching her business, Shannon was a research associate in Medical Physics with a focus on lung cancer treatment, and she has degrees in Zoology and Radiation Sciences. She was inspired to become an entrepreneur to pursue her passion and build a community of like-minded travelers.
