Shivani Dhamija

When Shivani Dhamija immigrated to Canada, she was unable to land a job in her field. Instead of giving up, Dhamija decided instead to start her own Indian Meal Delivery business in 2014. Two years later, Dhamija had progressed to selling authentic, bold spice blends and ready-to-use-sauces to give consumers a taste of India. In 2018, Dhamija opened her own restaurant but was forced to close it due to the challenges COVID-19 presented. Not one to say no to a challenge, Dhamija redirected her business into a production plant and now continues to offer her spices and blends in the Nova Scotia market. In 2020, Dhamija was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by the Immigrant Women Entrepreneurship Network (IWEN).
