Telia LaFontaine

Telia LaFontaine is a 16-year-old Métis (Cree and Anishinaabe) entrepreneur and the co-founder of Ohana Made Designs, a small handmade jewelry business influenced by Telia’s Métis and Native Hawaiian cultures. In 2021, Telia won the Youth Winner title at the Pow Wow Pitch, North America’s premier pitch competition for Indigenous entrepreneurs, and received $1,000 in prize funds Telia and her sisters work together on the business, each contributing to the creation of the jewelry. Telia’s entrepreneurship skills and passion for showcasing her heritage has helped the business gain international recognition.
