Tianpei Ma

Tianpei Ma is the Owner of Soft Strokes Silk, a Toronto-based startup that produces versatile and eco-friendly mulberry silk goods. Soft Strokes Silk began by offering silk face masks during the pandemic and has since sold over 40,000 products. As an entrepreneur, Tianpei chose to work with silk because of its importance in Asian culture and the joy it brings to people. Other team members of Soft Strokes Silk feel a similar connection to their heritage through working with silk, such as copywriter Caroline Chuang who became interested in her grandfather’s journey as a tailor. Tianpei holds an MBA from York University and is dedicated to sharing the beauty and history of silk with more people through her business. Tianpei was named one of the 21 Asian Entrepreneurs Who Are Shaking Up Canada by StartUp Canada.
