Carlyn Loncaric

After witnessing the challenges of water rescue and lifeguarding first hand, Carlyn Loncaric founded VodaSafe to innovate easily accessible water rescue devices. VodaSafe’s core product is the AquaEye, which is an advanced underwater scanner that uses ultrasound and artificial intelligence technologies to identify human bodies underwater. Carlyn is an engineer with over ten years of lifeguarding experience, and she leads a team of experts at VodaSafe to develop technology using modern methods. Her company has been up and running since 2014, providing a much-needed resource for search and rescue, emergency responders, lifeguards, and recreational users. In 2022, the BC Tech Association’s Technology Impact Awards recognized VodaSafe as Company of the Year – Startup.
