Nohémie Mawaka

Nohémie first became an entrepreneur at a young age, raising money at garage sales and by offering conversational french to adult learners to microfinance agricultural ventures. She sent $100 each to 5 women in Congo who were widows and living with HIV/AIDS, taking 10% of quarterly returns in exchange. Her next venture was StatsCongo whereby she implemented electronic health records in maternal health hospitals east of Congo, creating the necessary baseline of data to advocate for vulnerable women and improved maternal health outcomes. Nohémie’s latest venture Aluuka allows immigrants in Canada to pay healthcare for the care of their loved ones abroad.
